33 Storey Twin Towers Approved For Development in Fortitude Valley
06 Sep 2024
After EG Funds Management submitted ammendments to their development application for two 33-storey mixed-use towers located at 801 Ann Street and 80 McLachlan Street in November 2023, Brisbane City Council has just approved this development as of August 2024. According to brisbanedevelopment.com "...the proposal is poised to deliver a residential-led development that caters to the evolving needs of Brisbane’s growing population." - consisting of 551 build-to-rent and build-to-sell allotments.
Planners from Urbis highlight that since the initial approval, significant changes such as COVID-19, population growth, and securing the 2032 Olympic Games have influenced the project's evolution. Originally proposed as a 22-storey commercial building in 2015 and 2017, the development now focuses on a community-centered "vertical neighborhood." Both towers will have rooftop recreation decks with a pool, spa, sun deck, dining areas, and more. Level 5 will include gyms, a wellness spa, a library, lounges, and workspaces, with a landscaped central area between the towers.
